SVN verbose

If you want to see the details of any committed version of SVN i.e who committed the code, committed files name, committed date time and comment etc.
Then use VERBOSE option with SVN and using of verbose is very simple.

follow these steps if you are a SVN user.

log in to your svn account using ssh.

[prafulkumar@775-US undercover]$ ssh prafulkr@172.680.264.775

It will ask your SVN password and after successful login it shows last login details


prafulkr@172.680.264.775’s password:
Last login: Tue Nov 15 11:56:57 2011 from 172.680.264.775


now type:

[prafulkr@775-US undercover]$ svn log –verbose -r 42 or svn log -v -r 42

output will as follows:


r42 | undercover | 2011-05-26 12:33:49 +0530 (Thu, 26 May 2011) | 1 line
Changed paths:
M /TRUNK/undercover/loginform.php

refs #4126 enabling text and sql query logging.


r42: Revision number
undercover: SVN User who committed revision 42
2011-05-26 12:33:49 +0530 (Thu, 26 May 2011): Date time when files are committed
1 line: Where changes done
